ParticipantHello,
Is there any way to decode OFDM modulation? Any future plans to support it?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthogonal_frequency-division_multiplexingCan I decode at least one subchannel with existing capabilities of Spike? I see here main problem – how to isolate one subchannel from neigbour ones, there’s no visible gap in spectrum.

AndrewModeratorHello Ivan,
OFDM decoding is not currently possible with our software. Adding this to our software is something we have discussed many times, but we don’t have any definite plans at this point.
If you have access to something like Matlab with the communications toolbox, this might be an alternative.

InactiveI would like to register my interest in having a general purpose OFDM signal analyser added to the software. I am not so much interested in decoding a channel but in displaying it’s constellation. My principal interest would be for the DVB-T standard at non standard bandwidths.
I would even be happy if I had to input analysis information like symbol rate, guard period length, constellation and pilot tone magnitudes.
My application would be for transmitter testing/development.

AndrewModeratorHi Charles,
Thanks for the feedback. The software you describe is what we would eventually like to offer. As previously mentioned, we don’t have any definite plans or time frame for this yet. I would not expect this type of functionality soon. We did just simplify the interface between LabVIEW and our programming APIs recently. I would think the easiest way to get to OFDM demodulation would be to use third party software (Matlab or LabVIEW) with our programming interface. Having never done this, I can’t say what kind of effort this would require.

ParticipantG4GUO, you can save IQ data with SH BB60C an then open it in IQProcess program to study this data in this program. You can also draw a constellation of intercepted signal.
More over, you can cut a part of intercepted signal with the bandwidth you need and place a new IQ data file to RadioInspector for the further analyzis and even demodulation of digital standard signals like DMR, TETRA and APCO25.
In the middle of 2018 they will roll out a software demodulation of DVB-T2!February 4, 2018 at 2:18 pm #157757Anonymous
InactiveAlexgor,
Do you have a link?

ParticipantHi Charles,
Developer’s web site is radioinspector.com
IQprocess is affordable for free yet, just give me a direct link and I’ll send it to you.
Or, ask SH team to share this programm as third party software and can send it to them. Meanwhile, you can download it from AOR web site: http://www.aorja.com/support/radioinspector.eu/IQ_Process.htmlFebruary 4, 2018 at 3:01 pm #157762Anonymous
