I also encounter same issue to show “Failed to create empty document” in V2.14. But I also follow your guide to install Spike instead of V2.14. But get same result, the Spike pops up the Connection Status windows and its content is “Unable to connect to the internet or unable to fine the necessary file on the internet…..” I have checked USB-SA44B’s LED is green and my PC links internet well.
PS: I installed v2.14 in our PC(Windows-XP SP3) and USB-SA44B worked well. Now I re-install Windows 7(32-Bit) in my same PC. But both v2.14 and Spike can’t work well.
